This website focuses mainly on what you can experience in Norway as a visitor.

This website is definitely an unofficial guide to Norway and what you can experience in Norway. We write about things that we visit and the things we hear about that may be of interest to those wishing to travel to Norway. Articles will not be updated.

Personal opinions and experiences
Many of the articles contain personal opinions and experiences, should you visit the same places, it is possible that you get a different experience and opinion.

Six of us want to drive a car from Bergen, north to Geirangerfjord and then back to Oslo in mid- June 2010. Would like a recommended route and recommended stops along the way.

We’ll write about the route between Bergen and Geiranger soon. However, we do not set up personal routes for free for tourists as we are not a tourist information office.

As a day trip is the Bergen via Myrdal worthwhile? Or would we be wiser to take the Oslo to Bergen all day trip. We only have time to take one of these before we take our 2 week cruise to the Arctic Circle. Any info anyone else who has done the trip can give us would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hmm… Do you mean the the day trip “Norway in a Nutshell” from Bergen to Myrdal and back to Bergen? We suggest that you choose the Myrdal trip “Norway in a Nutshell” in stead of the train from Oslo to Bergen. You may also go by train from Oslo to Myrdal, then train from Myrdal down to Flaam and then boat from Flaam to Bergen.

We had to close it because heavy spamming. Someone is always trying to destroy for the rest of us, this time it was many people destroying for us. The result is now a closed forum. It will stay closed until we find an anti-spamming software solution or another software.

Norwegians are the rudest, most arrogant people in the world. I feel sorry for any foreigner living there unless they find people from their own country or other foreigners to socialize with. Norwegians are only for themselves and possess an extreme self-love bordering on pure narcissism. I URGE EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY! I`m glad I left Norway. I`m half Norwegian/half American. I was born in USA but my parents moved to Norway when I was 4 years old. My life story is a long and sad story, full of depression and regrets. I wasted many precious years being brainwashed by my self indulgent mother into believing that Norway is great and anywhere else in the world is inferior to Norway. It`s a sad story, but now finally me and my wife and daughter have been visiting the USA for 3 months. We will move here as soon as possible. People in America are polite, curteous and helpful. Norwegians are basically rude, arrogant and bigoted. They have no morals either, and no religion besides atheism. I hate Norway and I`ll never return there ever again for as long as I shall live.

Forget finding a job in Norway, Norwegians are extreme xenophobics. Foreigners with high degrees are lucky to get a job cleaning toilets there. Norwegians are in general racist, rude, anti semitic, arrogant and narcissistic by nature. And I should add, highly secular. I`ve lived there all my life so I know. The best thing I ever did was move out of Norway. Please contact me with any questions you may have and I`ll answer them honestly. I`m a white half Norwegian male, I`m m a general nurse by profession and I have seen a lot of filthy attitudes from Norwegians throughout the years. And yes, I`m generalizing here, you bet I am.

I forgot to mention, Norway must have the highest prices and taxes in the world. So you better come with a conciderable amount of cash. 2.30 USD for a liter of gasoline is an example of Norwegian prices. In the US you pay about 2.60 USD for 3.8 liters (1 gallon). Do the math!

I’m an American of Norwegian decent. Studying Norway and its culture has always been very interesting to me, and I hope to live there someday, though I can’t yet commit to moving there permanently.

Anyway, I have been raised with political beliefs that line up with the US Democratic Party. One thing about Norway that I have always appreciated is the fact that, by and large, foreign and domestic policies that your country chooses line up with my own opinions. I don’t think this is a coincidence, but rather a result of my own family coming so recently from Norway.

However, I’ve been reading up lately on this Fremskrittspartiet that is run by Siv Jensen. It horrifies me to discover that there is a party in Norway that is actively emulating the US Republican Party.

How is this possible? I thought Norwegians HATED George Bush and the politics that have come out of the US in this past decade.

I’ve read the news articles online, both in English and paa norsk, but what is Fremskrittspartiet’s reputation among average, ordinary Norwegians? Are they considered extremists? Is Hoeyrepartiet actually interested in forming a coalition with them, and if they do, is their intention to moderate out Fremskrittspartiet’s platform?
